City of York Safeguarding Children Partnership Annual Report 2020-21

Summary

1.    This report is a covering report for main City of York Safeguarding Children Partnership (CYSCP) Annual Report 2020-21 which is being presented by the Independent Scrutineer of the CYSCP, Professor Maggie Atkinson.

        Background

2.    The three Statutory Partners of the CYSCP have a statutory requirement to publish an annual report in order to bring transparency for children, families and all practitioners about the activity undertaken (Working Together, 2018). Within this annual report it also includes a section in Appendix A, which has been written by the Independent Scrutineer, Professor Maggie Atkinson which provides reflections on the content, appropriateness and quality of the CYSCP’s Annual report covering the financial year 2020-2021.

3.    This report has been developed by partners across the CYSCP. This report was ratified by the CYSCP Executive in September 2021 and was subsequently published on the CYSCP website. The Scrutiny Committee have requested for the CYSCP Independent Scrutineer to present this report at their meeting on the 6 October 2021.

9.    The CYSCP Annual Report 2020-21 has already being approved by the CYSCP Executive, which is the statutory body of the Safeguarding Children Partnership. The content within the CYSCP Annual report 2020-21 is being shared with members of this meeting for information purposes.
